We've merged back into the main infobot project hosted on SourceForge. Please see The main infobot site for updates, news, etc.

We've moved over to using SVN instead of CVS. I'm slowly fixing things that still point to CVS.

MySQL data got lost in the SF upgrade. I hacked it back to a usable state.

After being broken for a long time, I got around to fixing the cvs checkout script. Check the pub directory for the file blootbot-cvs.tar.gz

blootbot 1.1.0 finally released
July 04, 2001
Posted by dms

After months of bug fixes, blootbot 1.1.0 has been released. apt@OPN#debian has been running this version for months and it's been relatively stable. So enjoy.

Remember to file bugs or send me suggestions, otherwise I assume the code is right and is not buggy. I'm sure I have missed code or have not tested it fully. -dms

Ok, jm informed me that cvs tarball was not being updated - and I know why and has been fixed.

The webpage and documentation needs work on but I can't code perl and learn html so I'd appreciate some help.

I'll release 1.0.9 aswell since it includes new configuration format and internal changes.

blootbot 1.0.3 bug-fix upgrade released!
January 21, 2001
Posted by dms

After 3 months or so of inactivity on the project, a major bug fix upgrade release is out. Unfortunately, I do not have a clue how to generate a ChangeLog out of CVS but I'll include one if possible.

As for the webpage... I hope to clean it up in the next month so it's navigational and informative than it currently is.

At the moment, dynamic user/chan/bans/ignore list support is being worked on. The effort is as large as when mysql support was first added. Right now (not in cvs yet), it can read and write user/chan files properly and the infrastructure to manipulate (add/del/change) the above is there too but has not been tested at all.

If you have any suggestions or can help, submit a bug or email me.

We appologise that the 1.0.2 release seems to be broken. We are working on the many broken links on the page. Understand that blootbot is a work in progress. You can download the latest source via CVS. For information on accessing our CVS server click here. The package name is 'blootbot'. Thanks!

We are now usig a mySQL database to store and display news! The entire website is now drawn from php so webpage updates and news updates are as easy as can be. We have moved our task list from a file (that was in CVS) to Sourceforge's 'todo' list. To view it, select "View ToDo list" from the Development menu.
